ALONDRIA’S JOURNEY

Alondria McCoy is a North Carolina native and a graduate of Strayer University. She is a wife and mother, who is an ordained Minister of the Gospel and serves as an Advocate for Domestic Violence Prevention. Alondria has always had an interest in theater. After seeing “The Corn is Green”, starring Cicely Tyson on Broadway when she was nine years old, she was determined to have the opportunity to not only perform but to create on stage. Alondria landed her first acting role in 1991 when she was cast in Curtis Dean’s “We Need You, DADDY”. That was just the push that she needed. After being cast in many other productions such as “Lord Send Your Deliverance” and “Church Folks”, doors continued to open with opportunity. A national tour was getting ready to take place and Alondria knew that is what she wanted to do. After landing a role with Payton Productions and the late David Payton, she had the opportunity to tour the country as an original cast member of, “When a Women’s Fed Up” and “A Good Man is Hard to Find”. After brief hiatus, to care for her child, she had more determination and was ready to pursue even more. After hearing her grandmother Louise Shepherd, preach a sermon entitled “Get Right or Get Left”, Alondria decided to create her production and titled it the same. She went on to cast, write and produce several stage plays such as her hit play “First Lady”, “If Only you Knew”, “The Birth, The Work, The Resurrection”, “The Ultimate Gift” and her brand new upcoming stage play, “Mrs. Clean up Women”. Alondria made her movie debut in 2021 by landing a role in Bryant Griffin’s “Young Kings” where she also served as the North Carolina Casting Director. While having the pleasure of developing several working relationships with production companies, she continues to perform, train, and impart to those that are gifted and dream-inspired.   

With over 25 years of experience and training, Alondria has created ALON Entertainment to bridge the gap between local and mainstream talent. Not only does ALON Entertainment tour with shows of their own, but also offers acting/coaching, preparation, and training classes that will enhance your chances when auditioning for other opportunities.
